Khaki khaki khaki

Backstage at Balmain's

As the famous blogger Garance Dore (http://www.garancedore.fr/en) puts it: "Khaki is the new black". Yup, that's right! Khaki is the big trend this season and we're already in love with it! To get that distressed and destroyed look, think utility.

Balmain showed us some great pieces that are totally worth checking out: (hopefully you guys have already done that, riight?)

The models at Altuzarra as well, were dressed in khaki. Although Joseph's collection was not that rough as Balmain's, it is totally loveable.

Pastels

This season, it is all about the pastels. Whatever your personal style, make sure to bring colours of candy pink, lemon yellow, sherbet orange or powder blue into your wardrobe.

Go for it, and dress in pastels from top to toe. You may even use the same colour all over. Do use different types of shades and fabric though; thin chiffon, silk and cotton will look lovely together.

Think it is all too cute? Well, to sex it up and go for a rougher look, add black accessories to your outfit; a pair of black shoes together with a short, pastel coloured dress; a black blazer under a rose-coloured chiffon blouse, you name it!

Take a look at some of the top pastel filled collections of the season:

Giles went for hard-edged metallic pastels, prom frocks and pastel-coloured dinosaur bags!

In New York, Preen showed a collection filled with tone-in-tone outfits in floatingly fabrics in gorgeous colours as pigeon-blue, silver, pink and yellow.

Louise Goldin’s collection was all about studs and knitting in pale blue, mint green and lilac!

Viktor & Rolf amazed the audience with massive gaping holes carefully drilled through the layers of pastel tulle structures.

Christopher Kane’s SS10 collection introduced us to something like a ladylike affair with delectated beading and tight-high double slits in the skirts.

Sexy and sophisticated

We just love the asymmetric dresses and blouses with only one sleeve! Chloé’s chosen a exclusive style with black jumpsuits in velvet and delicious powdercoloured silk blouses with feminine details as loops for instant. The more raw version, with black dresses with one sleeve and decorated with details of lacquer is to be found at Gucci’s. Personally we are totally in love with Balamin’s short, short one sleeved dresses with sequins!

Changes at Halston’s.

New power to Halston with Marios Schwab in front.

Marios Schwab. Here also with the cute actress and fahion icon Clemence Poesy.

Halston got really famous at the end of the 60's. In 2008 the brand did a comeback, with help from many famous names, as for instant celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. Summer 2009 collection was presented at the "Museum of Modern Art" by an unknown designer team.
After a long periode of searching, the brand has finally chosen the new principal designer of the brand, no one else than Marios Schwa. Scwab takes over after the former Versace designer Marco Zanini, who was fired after disagreements between differents parts of the company.
Here are some peeks on the coming spring collection. In our opinion, it looks totally fab! Can't wait!

Alberta Ferretti - May dreams come true

There's always new designers comming through. This year Alberta Ferretti has done it good, and many celebs are wearing her dresses. She usually makes her clothes in cold, cleen and soft colors like white, black, olivegreen and light brown. But now she is starting to use warm colors and more exotic patterns. We like it!

She said herself: "I try to transform a dream's magic into reality"
We think she has done a great job so far.

Take a look:
